"I have always wanted to go to the mountains"- Logan

Logan_MooseLogan is a good ol’ boy through and through. He loves country music, hunting, fishing, dirt bikes and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Sounds like a typical eleven year old boy- spending most of his time outside. However, Logan is far from a normal kid. In July of 2012, Logan was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma; he faced a long road no child should ever have to endure.

Sometimes Wish Kids have a hard time choosing their one wish. Not Logan. He knew immediately that he wanted to go to Majestic Dude Ranch in Colorado. He chose Majestic Dude Ranch because he had always wanted to go to the mountains where the activities are endless: horseback riding, fishing, panning for gold.

During his week-long exploration of the ranch, Logan never ran out of things to do. He held and fed baby goats, as well as hung out with some real live rodeo clowns. He also enjoyed playing baseball; the Majestic Dude ranch had its very own baseball field and batting cage, a boys dream! Viewing the Colorado scenery by horseback was the only way to go, and Logan took the trails like a champion. When asked his favorite part of his adventure, Logan responded, “White water rafting was my favorite… the rapids made me fall off the back of my seat, everyone fell out laughing”. For a little while, the laughing took over the fear and stress of Logan’s disease

Looking back on his extraordinary wish trip, Logan made sure to mention all of the people working at the ranch. Two of the employees, Kimmy and Rachel, spent their day off and took Logan to an Elk Ranch. Talk about going above and beyond! The owner of the ranch, Mr. Robert, gave Logan a payday every day for his work at the ranch. Majestic Dude Ranch truly embodied the mission of Make-A-Wish and made a huge difference in the life of a child facing some tough battles. When reflecting on the wish, Logan's dad wrote "We really appreciate everybody and everything that y'all did to make his wish come true. Thank you so much!"

The best news of all? Logan's recent scans came back all clear! Logan's goal has always been to play football; this year that goal was reached.
