Chris, 17, had one wish: to have his 1987 Chevy Silverado restored back to its original condition and soon Chris’ wish, through the hard work of his wish granters and sponsors, came true!
In July, Chris’ Chevy was dropped off at Capitol Body Shop of Ridgeland, who generously restored Chris’ truck in-kind, for it’s complete restoration. It took two months of a “labor of love” from the shop’s youngest employees to fully restore Chris’ truck back to it’s complete glory.
On the day of Chris’ surprise wish reveal, a crowd of over 50 family, friends and partners gathered to experience the pure joy of Chris seeing his “new” truck for the first time in two months. Cheerleaders and the mascots from Madison Central High School, where Chris was a senior, led the crowd in a reveal chant, “Show Us the Chevy!” as Chris’ truck was driven out from the garage at Capitol Body Shop.
Chris was absolutely overwhelmed with hope, strength and joy when he saw his “new” truck for the first time and couldn’t wait to get in it to test out the new stereo system and air conditioner!
Chris’ wish was adopted by Mark and Robin Simpson, owners of Marathon Makeover.Capitol Body Shop provided all of their labor in-kind.
Other supporters included Big 10 Tires & Accessories, Delta Muffler & Repair, Empress Audio and Rick’s Pro Truck.
Chris has Burkitt’s Lymphoma and is currently in remission.
